Ate here 2/18. Chef is an artist. Both in flavor and plating. I don't do reviews. But I felt compelled.
We came here for Berkeley’s restaurant week and OMG I can’t even begin to say how great their offer, their food, and their service was! The food tastes modern, fresh, and absolutely delicious! Their restaurant week offer was extremely generous, at 40$ for a 5 course fine dining meal with original-sized portions! Try the unique squash soup, their creme brûlée’s (which comes in 3 different flavours!), and their lemon panna cotta! YUM! Compliments to the chef and their amazing service!
The Clam Chowder is a must! I am from Oregon coast and i am afraid to say it but Bay Grill is fantastic. However the fish taco i would stay away from. Order the Salmon!

Views and service were spectacular (thanks Ali), and the food was pretty in plating but sometimes lacking in substance. Shared Starters: - Burrata Plate (pictured) was more a "bread and tomato" plate and we were very disappointed with the amount of cheese plated. The pesto and balsamic were delicious, though the sourdough a but hard on the crust. - Brussels Sprouts were very unique as I had never had this flavor combination. Loved these! They were well dressed (some might say too much, but I like that) and generously topped with peanuts. - Garlic Truffle Fries were very garlicky (yum) but almost had no truffle flavor. They were okay. Mains: - Bison Short Rib (pictured) was tender and flavorful. Disappointing in the minuscule serving size of mashed potatoes. - Filet with Watermelon Beet Salad (pictured). The filet was perfect temp and could be cut with the butter knife. Very flavorful. Everything else in the plate didn't really add to the dish; three of us tried the goat cheese mousse and found it distasteful. - Seared Scallops (pictured) were tasty and a great blend of flavors. Really liked the celery root purée. - Arugula salad (pictured) was a huge hit mostly because of the unique panca pepper vinaigrette. - Lobster, Crab, and Shrimp roll (pictured) was really generous with the lobster and shrimp and well seasoned. The sweet roll was perfectly toasted. - Rising Sun cocktail was delish, but pricey. Overall good food and would be interested in going back for a discounted happy hour on the marina. There is certainly a cost premium for the view and because it's inside the hotel.
